CHILDREN'S MINISTRY TEAM -- NOVEMBER 11, 2009

Attendance: Cindy Hare, Erin Karlgaard, Nikki Stark, Pastor Bruce Hannem, Janet Mayer.

Guests: Peggy Carlson, Dagny Trucano.

Old Business:

• PARDI-Uganda: So far, we have sold $167.00 in merchandise received from PARDI. We will sell remainder of baskets and jewelry at Advent Fair at a Christmas Discount. 100% will be sent back to Uganda to be used as needed to help the children.

• Finances: We are currently $1,100 below budget, and expect that we will remain under budget for 2009.

• Budget 2010: Janet presented the 2010 budget of $7500. It will be submitted to Council in January with all budgets.

• Designated Fund: So far we have $201 in Designated fund for 2009/2010, which brings our account balance to approximately $1,100. We will be re-designating all Sunday School offering monies to Designated Fund. Janet will work with Pastor Bruce and solicit further information on obtaining a new baptismal font as part of our church beautification project for 2009/2010.

New Business:

• Sunday School Registration is now online. Anyone can access the form from the Children tab on the LCC web page. This will streamline registration starting in 2010/2011 and reduce paper.

• Janet submitted a request to Women of the ELCA for $400 to purchase a secure media cart for the CM laptop and projector. We will also begin a sign in/out for the cart and media equipment when it arrives. The team authorized the expenditure of $400 for the media cart if not approved by W-ELCA.

• Christmas Program: Erin has worked out the parts for the program and will have scripts ready for distribution on Sunday, November 22^nd. We will provide a snack of juice, fruit, and crackers or donuts for the Sunday School children on December 20^th as they will be in Sunday School an extended period.

• Advent Fair: Plans for Chrismons, cookies, lefse, sale of Uganda items, and a military support table were finalized. Janet will be sending out postcard reminders of the event immediately following Thanksgiving.
